Do you want to work for a sustainable future? Do you have an interest in environmental and waste issues? Then you might be the one we are looking for! We are now seeking two employees for the Recycling Center at Brännkläppen in Boden.

Customers come to the recycling centers (ÅVC) to leave what they no longer want. As an employee at the recycling center, you play an important role in meeting customers. Together, we work for a sustainable future.

In Boden municipality, we receive large amounts of food waste from several municipalities. The food waste is recycled into biogas, and the first step is to create a slurry from the food waste. The slurry facility is located at Brännkläppen, from where the slurry is then transported to the biogas facility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for two environmental workers for the waste/customer service unit that belongs to the Water, Sewage, and Waste (VAA) department at Boden municipality.

This is a varied job with friendly colleagues where you work together to ensure that the daily operations at ÅVC Brännkläppen are conducted efficiently, safely, and environmentally correctly. The job also includes performing tasks with our waste service vehicle and operating the slurry facility.

At ÅVC, we will work on waste prevention, meaning stopping items from becoming waste, and we will steer more towards reuse and recycling instead of incineration and landfilling. Customer interaction is our focus; you are our face to the public and understand the importance of good service. You inform and guide the municipality's citizens, both private individuals and businesses.

Your work includes sorting for reuse, receiving and checking hazardous waste, snow removal, maintaining order, sorting and transloading, handling waste bins, etc. Other independent tasks outside ÅVC are also included, such as distributing bio bags, replacing broken waste bins, etc. The work is partly independent and partly in a team, and can be physically demanding, taking place mostly outdoors.

The waste service vehicle is assigned tasks via a tablet, and after good planning, the day's/week's tasks are carried out in a time- and environmentally efficient manner.

In addition to the tasks at ÅVC, work at the slurry facility is also included, where we manage the daily operations, which includes loading food waste into the facility with a wheel loader, changing containers for coarse sorting, and monitoring the process from food waste to slurry.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who speaks Swedish and can be understood in English. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

You have an interest in environmental issues and value sustainability and reuse.

Since the job involves a lot of customer contact, we are looking for someone who is social, service-oriented, and possesses a high level of social competence. You easily make contact with customers at the ramp, and you are driven by creating added value for customers and feel responsible for building trust. You communicate and guide easily, providing everyone with a good reception with patience for both citizens and colleagues.

You are engaged, flexible, orderly, and quality- and responsibility-conscious. You find it easy to collaborate while also being able to work independently. You are positive, enjoy spreading joy in the workplace, and take great responsibility for your tasks.

For the waste service vehicle, a good ability to plan logistically, both time-efficiently and environmentally efficiently, is required. You need to be very self-sufficient and perform the job without further guidance, have a good ability to plan what materials and tools are needed for the day, and also anticipate potential issues. You need to be able to solve problems that arise spontaneously, be flexible, and think on your feet when necessary. You should be comfortable finding contact information and then making the necessary contacts to solve the tasks.

Since the job involves some physically demanding tasks, you need to be in good physical shape.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Extent: full-time 100%. 2 positions. Scheduled work, including evenings and weekends, may occur.
